Best records of the years you've been alive

Heres a fun exercise I've found floating around. Its common to make up best of lists of current music, but what about other years you've been alive? As a music fan its fun to surf wikipedia thinking about your favorite records of the late 80's (I was 4-6 at the time, not a huge rock fan). Heres my list, I'd be stoked to see yours:

Year - Album - Artist

- Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen
- Tim - The Replacements
- Blood and Chocolate - Elvis Costello
- Tunnel of Love - Bruce Springsteen
- Temple of Low Men - Crowded House
- Freedom - Neil Young
- Sticks and Stones - The 77's
- Don't try this at home - Billy Bragg
- Automatic for the people - REM
- VS - Pearl Jam
- Vitalogy - Pearl Jam
- The Ghost of Tom Joad - Bruce Springsteen
- I Feel Alright - Steve Earle
- Dig me Out - Sleater-Kinney
- Mermaid Avenue - Billy Bragg and Wilco
- Dance the Devil - The Frames
- Heartbreaker - Ryan Adams
- Tyranny of Distance - Ted Leo
- The Rising - Bruce Springsteen *tie* Jerusalem - Steve Earle
- O - Damien Rice
- Shake the Sheets - Ted Leo
- Cold Roses - Ryan Adams
- Boys and Girls in America - The Hold Steady
- Magic - Bruce Springsteen *tie* Boxer - The National
(so far) - Keep your eyes ahead - The Helio Sequence

No surprises here really, my favorite artists dominate this list, as its my favorite albums. Note the difference as I think OK Computer was probably the "best" record of 1997, but dig me out is my favorite record from that year.

Most appearances: Springsteen (5 - every record released but The Seeger Sessions), after that 2nd place is a five way tie between Ryan Adams, Billy Bragg, Ted Leo, Steve Earle and Pearl Jam with two apiece.

Now you try~!!!!
